5.2 Raw data / auto point logging

Raw data logging

Description of fields

Field Option Description
Log raw data for post processing Check box Activates raw data logging.
Log data to CS controller or GS sensor Available on the Rover page only. Logging data to the field controller cannot be configured from the Web server, but the option can be displayed if it is already set by the active configuration.
Start logging Selectable list Available on the Rover page only and for Log data to:GS sensor. Starting the logging session by entering the Survey application cannot be configured from the Web server, but the option can be displayed if it is already set by the active configuration.
Log data when  Available on the Rover page only.
Static Raw observation logging takes place assuming the instrument is stationary, a static interval is created.
Kinematic Raw observation logging takes place assuming the instrument is moving, a kinematic interval is created.
Logging rate From 0.05 sec (20 Hz) to 60 sec (1 min) Rate at which raw observations are logged. On the Rover page only available for Log data to:GS sensor
  Recommendations:

The maximum logging rate using Bluetooth on the field controller is 0.2 sec (5 Hz).

For static operations with long baselines and over long time select 15 sec or 30 sec.

For base stations for post-processed and real-time kinematic rovers, Logging rate at the base should be the same rate as at the rover.

For initialisation while static and occupying distinct points in kinematic chains Logging rate between 0.1 sec (10 Hz) and 2 sec.

Data type to log Selectable list Data can be logged in the Leica proprietary MDB format or in RINEX. On the Rover page only available for Log data to:GS sensor
Log second session Check box Activates raw data logging to a second file with a different observation rate.
Second session logging rate From 0.05 sec (20 Hz) to 60 sec (1 min) Rate at which raw observations are logged.

Auto logging of points

Available on the Rover page only.
Auto points can only be configured when raw data logging is set to log kinematic data to the GS when turned on or when no raw data logging is configured.

Description of fields

Field Option Description
Log auto points Check box Activates the logging of auto points.
All other fields on the screen are active and can be edited.

Auto point method By time Available on the Rover page only. Auto points are logged according to a time interval. The time interval is independent from the update interval for the position on the screen.
By distance The difference in distance from the last stored auto point, which must be reached before the next auto point is logged. The auto point is logged with the next available computed position
Log every  Available on the Rover page only.
Editable field For Auto point method:By distance. The difference in distance before the next auto point is logged.
From 0.05 sec (20 Hz) to 60 sec (1 min) For Auto point method:By time. The time interval before the next auto point is logged.
